Over the course of a year, more than 50,000 Minnesotans will experience homelessness. Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander and Communities of Color are disproportionately impacted.

Rising costs due to inflation continue to make the housing crisis in our region more severe. In 2022,  our 211 resource helpline fielded 144,446 calls related to housing and shelter - a 160% increase compared to pre-pandemic levels.

Each year, thousands of households in the Greater Twin Cities transition from homelessness to housing yet lack the everyday essentials needed for a safe, stable home.

To help ease this financial burden, our Home For Good initiative is back with a goal to provide 700 local families with "Welcome Home Bins." Each bin includes cleaning supplies, kitchen utensils, hygiene necessities, blankets and more.

You can help welcome families home for good.

1. Volunteer at Home to provide essential household items!

Please note, our final collection day was scheduled for November 3. If you were not able to make a drop off, please email VolunteerUnited@gtcuw.org to coordinate a drop off at United Way.

2. Make a gift to support local families!

  • Donate to support families transitioning to stable housing
  • Shop the Home For Good Amazon Wish List

3. Rally your company or organization to host a Home For Good Satellite Project!
